Summer fun time at Rainy Lake Houseboats
 The blueberries are ripe and sweet! You will find many in the shady areas of the islands and mainland. Berries should be available through August 5th. The hiking trail in Anderson bay has a lot of berries just off the trail.
The bald eagles have hatched their eggs. The first nest you will see is just a hundred yards past marker #19. The eaglets are learning how to fly; they are all dark brown with no white markings. It is really fun to see them grow so fast. The nests are often empty this time of the year but they return to rest and spend the nights usually until mid August.

 Walleye fishing is good. The walleyes are in their summer haunts. We have been catching fish on the islands, flats and break lines in 20-35 feet. The Anderson, Hitchcock, Finlander, Marion, Lost, Cranberry, and Dove Bays break lines have been good. The break lines are outside of the bays, the first off shore area 20-35 feet have been best. The 30-36 feet in the Fox Island area on both reefs and break lines has also been good. The break lines are the descending structure off shore. The break usually descends from 0-8 feet, 8-15 feet, and then 15- 35 feet.

 Hello Rainy Lake Houseboats Ambassador Club members! Thank you for vacationing with us this summer. We are surprised at how many ambassadors have opted to take advantage of the Ambassador Clubs privileges this year.
If you are still thinking of taking another trip there are openings yet in mid August, late August and September. Remember the Ambassadors Club works like this; anytime after your first trip in 2008 any member of your party can reserve a second trip at 20% off the daily, midweek or August 23-through the end of the season. Mid week rates would then be 30% off, July 30-August 23 over weekends 20% off, and August 23- October 11 would be 40% off.
