Jon fished with and Mike Scott and Hunter. They fished a top of reef in 30 feet of water from 8:00- 1030 AM. They went to another reef and ended up spending rest of the day on that reef. Only fished two spots. The second spot walleyes were on the break or side of the reef from 32-36 feet of water. Take a look at the picture of the Humminbird 1198. The left side shows the walleyes near the bottom, the right side shows the reef and location of the boat. We were using 1/4 jigs tipped with chub minnows. Many of the walleyes spit up ciscoes. Check out the walleye by Jon’s measuring stick and the ciscoe below it. Ciscoes are fairly large forage, but chub minnows still work! Fishing was unreal, summer time sunken island reef walleye fishing is hot. Mark and Scott’s biggest was 24 inches long. Had many keepers keeping a limits of nice 15-16 inch walleyes. walleye dinner tonight!
